Michael Oats
Michael Oats is our route manager at Colorado Broadband. Known for his “can-do” attitude, Michael brings extensive communications knowledge and over eleven years of experience to RhibaCom. He has an Associate’s degree in network communication technology and certifications in SCBA, Windows 2000 and Windows 98, CAT-5, and Starband. He has professional experience ranging from network support to cable implementation to telecommunications installation. Michael’s multitudinous repertoire of experience and knowledge make him a pivotal player in Denver’s telecommunications industry.
Michael’s positive approach, high expectations and goals, and emphasis on teamwork comprise his remarkable conduct at RhibaCom. As route manager, Michael supervises twelve technicians, establishing work routes and serving as a mentor in their training and professional development. He also personally addresses customer inquiries when additional steps need to be taken to overcome an issue or achieve total satisfaction. For every service call, task, or issue that arises, he responds “We can do this, we can get it done!” He arrives to work everyday with this attitude and with the goals of completing all tasks for the day while helping the company and his technicians grow. He diligently works to ensure that all technicians are trained so that they may too encompass this attitude and feel confident about their work, not only so that they may provide the best service possible during their time at RhibaCom, but to also help them in their professional development wherever that may take them.
Michael values a professional, customer service-driven, comfortable, and open work environment. Every day, he works to reinforce this type of work environment by placing an emphasis on team development and always having his door open to technicians’ concerns and goals. Michael believes the best asset any member of the team can have is integrity. He expects those on his team to maintain a professional attitude towards work by being present both physically and mentally and having the goal of providing the best services possible. By setting these high expectations for his crew and himself while being open to feedback and growth, Michael sets a notable standard for work at Colorado Broadband.
Michael entered the telecommunications industry because of his love of new technology and understanding the way things work. He is fascinated by the advancing technologies of broadband and high definition that are changing and improving the capabilities of networking in communication. He has chosen RhibaCom because he describes the company as being in the center of that technology. With the company for over four years, he has found that RhibaCom gives him accessibility and first-hand experience with those resources that serve as a constant motivation for him. He also appreciates the owners’ approach to business through the support they offer their employees and encouragement in embarking on new opportunities for personal and professional growth within the company. Michael’s enthusiasm for new technologies, persistent drive for learning, and “can-do” attitude embrace the essence of RhibaCom.
